| Project: | Novus International St. Charles, Missouri | | Architect: | Architextures | | The challenge: | To complete renovations in an animal nutrition lab over a short, holiday-shutdown. | A leader in animal nutrition, Novus International develops health and dietary supplements for livestock, pets and people. When it needed to replace acid digestion fume hoods and the associated ductwork in a busy lab at its headquarters, time was of the essence. Working with ISC Contracting, the company chose to have the new equipment and infrastructure installed over a brief holiday shut-down of the lab's operations. Because the window available for construction was short, ISC was required to work around -- rather than to move -- the sensitive, expensive equipment housed in the lab. Safety was paramount throughout construction as well. ISC completed the $120,000 project on budget and within schedule, enabling Novus researchers to hit to the ground running when they returned 14 days later.
